New Market: Feb. 19 After living in the same neighborhood her entire life, Mrs. A.F. Martin died in the same house in which she was born, September 9, 1850, this morning at 8:50 after she suffered a sudden paralytic stroke at 6 o'clock this morning. She had been in apparent good health up to that time Mrs. Martin lived in the same home south of here nearly all of her life. She was well known here and was one of the most highly respected citizens of this neighborhood. She had been married for forty-three years and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David VanCleave, who lived south of here. She is survived by her husband, one brother, Manning VanCleave, who lives near here, and four children. They are: Charles, who lives in Linnsburg, Fred and Roy near New Market and Ruth who lived at home. One child was born to Mr. and Mrs. Martin who died in infancy. One sister, Mrs. Jane Pickett, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at the home and will be in charge of Rev. Airhart.

New Market, Feb. 21 -- Funeral services for Mrs. A.F. Martin who died Thursday morning at 9 o'clock following a stroke of apoplexy which she suffered at 6 o'clock, were held at the home Saturday morning at 11 o'clock in charge of Rev. Cornelius Airhart of Crawfordsville. Mrs. Martin was 73 years old on Sept. 9 and was born in the house where she died. She spent her entire life in this community. She was married forty-three years ago to A.F. Martin, who survives; also one daughter Ruth at home; three sons, Roy and Fred of New Market and Charles of Linnsburg and one brother, Manning VanCleave of New Market. An infant son and one sister, Mrs. Jane Pickett, preceded her in death. Walter Pinkley, H.M. Derby, Ernest Yount and J.W. VanCleave sang "Rock Of Ages"and "Abide With Me". Pall bearers were Farmer Doyel, William Rinkley, John Burgess, James Miles, Frank Coons and Albert Seaman. The grandchildren acted as flower bearers.
